Tottenham 2 – Newport 0
Spurs are through to the sixth round of the FA Cup.
Rochdale will now take on Tottenham on February 18.
Spurs had the game wrapped up against Newport at halftime. After being forced into a replay by the League Two side, and own goal from Dan Butler and a second from Erik Lamela advanced Mauricio Pochettino’s side in the next round.
Arguably, the FA Cup offers Tottenham their best chance of winning silverware this season.
Dele Alli’s difficult week
It’s been a hectic week for Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli on social media.
Alli attracted plenty of hate following last Sunday’s 2-2 draw at Liverpool.
During that game, Alli was booked for trying to con the referee into awarding a penalty when he took a dive in the box.
That was the third time this season Alli has been booked for diving.
Moreover, Alli’s week worsened when an alleged private video was leaked onto social media.
Tottenham’s Dele Alli gets a new song
With that as the background, the Spurs and England midfielder was serenaded with a new song on Wednesday night against Newport.
The lyrics to the song are as follows:
You’ve got Ali, Dele Alli, I just don’t think you understand…
He’s got more pubic hair, than you’ve got silverware, you’ve got Dele Alli…
Newport County fans en route to Wembley…

Tottenham vs Arsenal
Will Arsenal fans sing the song this Saturday in the north London derby at Wembley?
Tottenham are four points clear of their local rivals in the table.
Just one point behind Chelsea, Tottenham are fifth in the Premier League with 49 points on the board. Arsenal are in sixth on 45 points.
Arsenal beat Spurs 2-0 earlier this season. Skhodran Mustafi and Alexis Sanchez were the heroes for the Gunners on that occasion.
