Mourinho dismisses Spurs advantage

Spurs head coach Jose Mourinho has disregarded comments from Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta that Tottenham will have an advantage heading into the North London Derby this weekend, having played their Europa League first-leg tie against Dinamo Zagreb at home.

Arsenal will travel to Greece to play Olympiacos on Thursday night, and will need to travel back before their test against Spurs on Sunday.

“On December 6, we played against Arsenal in our stadium. On December 3, Arsenal played at home against Rapid Vienna,” said Mourinho.

“At the same time, we were playing in the ice in Linz against LASK Linz. We landed in London at 3am. Was that an advantage for Arsenal?”

Mourinho will have the majority of his first-team squad available for both matches, but has confirmed that Argentinian international Giovani Lo Celso will be missing:

“Gio is not ready but it is nothing to do with his previous important injury, which is totally recovered,” Mourinho said.

“But with the accumulation of work his feelings are not the best, a little bit of some back pain and he had to stop working the way he was doing.

2021/22 Spurs kit leaked

Spurs’ new kit has allegedly been leaked, and the design is inspired by a classic Tottenham look.

The new kit – if the leak is credible –  is a very simple design. This season’s shirt has the white and navy colour scheme, but the main torso is etched with a subtle light grey pattern effect.

However, the new jersey is much simpler. The elements of navy have even been removed entirely, aside from the club crest and Nike logo.

It then reappears in the shorts and socks.

The design will mark the first time since the 2011/12 season in which Tottenham’s shirt will be entirely plain white, and not covered with any coloured patterns or dark navy highlights or stripes.
