Thierry Henry & Aston Villa

Will Arsenal icon Thierry Henry become the new Aston Villa manager?

Those rumours have been flying about for several days in the press after Villa sacked Steve Bruce last week.

Aston Villa are 15th in the Championship with 15 points from 12 matches this season.

Of course, Villa were within touching distance of playing Premier League football just a few months ago. However Fulham beat Villa in the Championship playoff final at Wembley.

Chris Van Puyvelde provides an update

Thierry Henry has never been a manager before.

In recent times Henry has been working as an assistant to Roberto Martinez with the Belgium national team.

Henry was an ever-present on the Belgium bench during the World Cup.

This week, Belgium’s technical director Chris Van Puyvelde has provided an update on the Thierry Henry to Aston Villa rumours.

In a worrying message for Villa fans, they’ve been warned that “in football things can change quickly.”

Thierry Henry & John Terry

On BBC 5 Live radio on Monday night, Ian Wright and Chris Sutton offered their thoughts on claims Thierry Henry and John Terry could be appointed at Aston Villa.

Wright believes Henry and Terry could be a perfect combination:

Henry was an unbelievable offensive player and Terry was unbelievable defensively. If they get it right it seems very exciting.
