Once of Real Madrid and later Everton, Royston Drenthe now plays his football in the United Arab Emirates for Bani Yas. Yesterday he came up against the country’s undisputed star, Omar Abdulrahman.
A six-goal thriller, Abdulrahman’s side, the title-chasing Al Ain, won the game 4-2. Notoriously tricky, the attacker is probably used to being targeted by hard men opponents and Drenthe made his presence felt.
