Leicester’s Riyad Mahrez & Man City

Something big happened at Leicester City on Thursday.

For the first time since his failed move to Manchester City in the January transfer window, Riyad Mahrez has spoken to the English press.

What happened with Man City? Why did Mahrez go AWOL?

Will he still be at Leicester City at the start of next season?

Mahrez: ‘Man City is a good move for everyone’

Rob Dorsett has shared some of the key updates from Mahrez on social media.

In a statement which Leicester fans won’t want to hear, the 27-year-old said:

Man City is a good move for everyone. I have regrets but I needed some time away to think.

So does that mean he’ll definitely leave Leicester this summer?

I’m not saying I’m going to leave. We will see in the summer if some things comes. But at the moment I’m a Leicester player and all is good here.

Leaving Leicester for Roma?

According to Italian daily Corriere dello Sport on Thursday, Roma are in talks to sign Riyad Mahrez this summer.

Indeed, CdS believe that Mahrez may already have a personal agreement with Roma, although the Giallorossi have yet to reach an agreement with Leicester.

If Roma intend to make this deal happen, then the assumption is they’ll have to pay around 50 million pounds, if not more, to get Leicester to agree to the sale.

Mahrez remains under contract at the Foxes until 2020.
