Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has seemingly responded to claims that he was offered to Manchester City in the January transfer window.
The Frenchman’s troubles at Old Trafford have certainly not gone unnoticed and the player is struggling to regain any kind of form.
That came after a falling out with boss Jose Mourinho over playing in a deeper role.
Though, while the feud seemed to be in the past now, Pep Guardiola has opened up a new can of worms.
That is because he claimed in his press conference on Friday that the club were offered the chance to sign the player in January.
Mino Raiola was the subject of the conversation and after Guardiola slammed him for calling him a ‘coward’ and a ‘dog’, he revealed the shocking news.
Two months ago he offered me Mkhitaryan and Pogba to play with us. Why? he explained in his press conference.
“Why he offer? He was interested in Mkhitaryan and Pogba to play with us?
“So I’m like a guy, so he has to protect his players and he has to know so he cannot bring the players to a guy like me, like a dog.
The news broke at 4pm in the United Kingdom due to an embargo breach, but it didn’t take Paul Pogba long to respond.
The Frenchman posted a picture on his Twitter which had seemed to be a reaction to the news he had just heard.
The player could be seen with his hand to his ear, gesturing ‘excuse me?’.
Though, the caption read ‘Say what?’
Whether that is the player dismissing that the news is true or whether he is just shocked is yet to be seen, but he certainly knows about it now.
