What a game
While everyone expected goals during Liverpool v Manchester City, no one could have expected what happened in the first 45 minutes of the game.
That is because Jurgen Klopp’s side came out swinging very early on in the game as they looked to make the home advantage count.
With a place in the Champions League semi-final the reward for the winners of the two-legged tie, Anfield needed no motivation to create a spectacle.
Though, it was their side who put on a show when they picked apart possibly the best side in the world right now.
Free firing Reds
The first goal came from Liverpool’s main man Mohamed Salah.
The Egyptian scored his 38th goal of the season but the Reds were not planning on just holding onto their lead.
They went out to looking for more and they got exactly that when Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain made it 2-0 with a stunning strike.
The Englishman picked up the ball from around 25 yards out and smashed a shot into the corner of the net, leaving Ederson with no chance.
WHAT. A. HIT! 🚀

While everyone was stunned simply by a 2-0 scoreline, no one expected what was to come next.
Liverpool went back on the front foot yet again and were not taking their foot off the pedal.
That lead to their third goal courtesy of a Sadio Mane header to stun the Anfield faithful even further.
Pep Guardiola didn’t know what hit him and Man City simply didn’t know what had happened.
While they started to perk up towards the end of the first half, it was far too late for them to mount any form of a comeback.
Social media stunned at Man City performance
While many were quick to praise Liverpool, some also looked at Man City’s showing.
It’s safe to say that people on social media re not exactly impressed.

Man City swinging multiple crosses in seems like a team panicking rather than following Pep Guardiolaish instructions

How is Man City 3 goals down in just 30 minutes of such a game?

Don’t let ManCity conceding 3 goals in the first half at Anfield distract you from the fact that ManCity have 3 of the 5 costliest defenders in the world.

It’s disturbing that Man City have spent £300m+ on the defense but the media won’t blink an eye tomorrow.
But Jose has spent £300m on all transfers for United and is constantly hammered about it.

Man City looking properly rattled here. They need to tap into the legendary spirit of Elano, Emile Mpenza, Sun Jihai and…. em…. Rolando Bianchi to get them back into this one.
