Moussa Sissoko’s ‘stamp’ on Kenedy
Pictures are being shared by Newcastle United fans on social media following their 2-1 defeat to Tottenham last weekend.
One Spurs player who came in for plenty of abuse in the match was Moussa Sissoko.
Moussa Sissoko left Newcastle to join Spurs in a 35 million pound deal in September 2016.
Sissoko was regularly booed by Magpies fans during the Premier League round one fixture.
But did Sissoko act out too?
Some Newcastle fans believe Sissoko should be hit with a retrospective ban for a stamp on Kenedy.
I very much doubt there will be any further punishment to @MoussaSissoko from the @FA for this blatant stamp on Kenedy’s calf. Pretty sure it would have been different it it was Shelvey…. oh wait a min 🤔 @BBCMOTD pic.twitter.com/MxC4QvooG3

Sissoko only contribution for Spurs yesterday was fouling Kennedy yet no retrospective ban for him though I see & @BBCMOTD @SkySports didn't mention yet if it was Shelvey they'd want him strung up https://t.co/FW5BgfazXs

Irrelevant mate. The foul has been given anyway. You can't stand on the back of someone's calf in this day and age and not expect to be crucified.
He's done it really subtly but it's extremely dangerous play that. pic.twitter.com/aT8lzukxj0

Newcastle 1 – Tottenham 2
They may not have signed anyone in the summer, but Tottenham got off to a winning start to the new Premier League season.
Jan Vertonghen opened for Spurs with a header from a set-play after just 8 minutes. But Newcastle were quick to level, as Joselu found the net with a clinical header.
A hectic start to the match continued when Dele Alli scored a header in the 18th minute to restore Tottenham’s advantage.
