Mohamed Salah vs Egyptian FA
This situation is going from bad to worse very quickly.
Away from Liverpool, Mohamed Salah has a major problem on his hands regarding the Egyptian FA.
In the past few days, Salah and his agent have used very public means to call out their national federation.
Salah is furious with how his image rights have been used without permission by the Egyptian FA.
The issue flared up in the summer when the plane ferrying Egypt to the World Cup in Russia had an unauthorised image of Salah on the side.
Salah’s Facebook videos
This week Salah uploaded a couple of videos on Facebook.
The Liverpool forward made the following comments about the national team:
I did not ask for a special treatment from the EFA, I do not see myself as above any of my team mates in order to do so, and when I speak about the problems we had in Russia I’d like to speak for my team mates but I’m not entitled to do so, there are more important and older players than me there.
I’m not speaking to cause problems; all I want is to tell my side of the story as the EFA did. First of all I did not like how they distorted the main problem.
They make us travel in economy class, which is exhausting for every player; all the other African teams fly in business class.
I’m not the captain but someone had to speak out, that’s all, and I’m ready to take responsibly for those words.
‘Pig in white’ & Liverpool star’s mum is ‘threatened’
Salah’s video has provoked a couple of shocking reactions from members of Egypt’s FA.
The most outrageous reply came from Khaled Lateif, who is a board member of the Egypt Football Association. He threatened the Liverpool star’s mum on Twitter:
I’d like to remind @MoSalah that your mother is still in Egypt.
You are abroad and can do as you wish. Those who understand, understand.

Magdy Abd El Gany, another board member of the Egypt Football Association, called the Liverpool striker a “pig” with the following trolling tweet:
Here is a picture of me with four players and a pig in white.
