Noel Gallagher firing shots

Manchester City fan Noel Gallagher has labelled Liverpool fans ‘deluded’ and claimed they are ‘a bit weird’ and get ‘over-emotional’.

The famous Man City fan obviously made his name as the lead guitarist and songwriter for British band Oasis.

In recent years, however, he has become somewhat a regular voice on all affairs Manchester City who he supports.

Though, today he took some pretty hefty shots at their Premier League title rivals Liverpool and their fans.

‘They are a little bid deluded’

Speaking on the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast show on TalkSPORT, he explained the joy he gets from seeing them in meltdown.

He even claimed that he derived as much pleasure from the Reds losing the Champions League final than he did with Man City winning the Premier League.

“Liverpool fans are a bit weird, they get over emotional,” he explained.

“They are like the Queen Mother, Liverpool fans. They think everyone loves them. They are a little bit deluded.

“I have three Liverpool fans in my band who are on stage with me and it is great watching the meltdowns around about March and particularly in the Champions League final.

“We were on stage while it was on and I could see a couple of Liverpool fans dying as the game went on.

“I must say after they smashed up our team coach in the quarter-final I think I derived as much pleasure from that [them losing the Champions League final] than I did from us winning the league.”

Sadio Mane targeting another Champions League run with Liverpool

Noel Gallagher may enjoy laughing at Liverpool fans, but the Reds may yet have the last laugh.

That is because Sadio Mane has been talking about their desire to go on another Champions League run this season.
