Man United’s Nemanja Matic vows to never speak to Serbian media again

Nemanja Matic uses Instagram for serious issue

When Nemanja Matic started his Instagram account in late January, it was thought the Manchester United midfielder would simply look to grow his account through some light hearted posts.

Most famously, Matic has joked about what was written on Jose Mourinho’s note sent to him during the 2-1 win over Chelsea at Old Trafford.

On Monday, Nemanja Matic has taken aim at the Serbian media with a serious issue.

Branislav Ivanovic replaced as Serbia captain by Aleksandr Kolarov

The international break has been a difficult one so far for Serbia, who do have the World Cup to look forward to.

Last week, Serbia coach Mladen Krstajić made a surprising change without giving a reason.

Former Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic was removed as Serbia captain and replaced by former Manchester City left back Aleksandr Kolarov.

On Friday, Serbia lost 2-1 at home to Morocco. Serbia play Nigeria in an international friendly on Tuesday.

“Matic is the ring leader”

On Monday, Nemanja Matic has taken to Instagram to slam the Serbian media.

The Manchester United midfielder posted a picture from a news report that featured a sad looking Branislav Ivanovic.

The headline says: “Nemanja Matić is the ringleader.

Bane (Branislav Ivanović) is completely shaken. Players are making fun of the former Serbia captain.”

To which Nemanja Matic simply added his take on events, on Instagram:

“Because of these lies I have decided to never give statements to the Serbian media.”
