Antonio Valencia may spend much of his time at Manchester United playing right back but last night in the Estadio Monumental the Ecuador winger reminded us all of just how rapid he can be.
Manchester United fans have already compared this run and assist for Ecuador’s second goal against Argentina to Valencia’s famous sprint away at Liverpool.
Perhaps Louis van Gaal should play Valencia higher up the pitch?
Ecuador went ahead against Argentina in the 81st minute through Fricson Erazo.
Just one minute later the ball was worked to Valencia on the right hand side on the halfway line.
Two perfect touches and an absolutely rapid sprint saw Valencia cross to Felipe Caicedo who finished with ease.
