Liverpool’s Simon Mignolet reacts badly after Porto

Liverpool 0 – Porto 0

Jurgen Klopp’s Reds are through to the Champions League quarterfinals.

Liverpool were held to a goalless draw at Anfield on Tuesday night by FC Porto.

However Liverpool had killed the tie in the first leg in Portugal as they won 5-0.

Once again Loris Karius was in goal for Liverpool against the Dragons, and the German kept another clean sheet.

Karius has kept four clean sheets, and conceded just one goal in his last five games for the Reds.

It’s clear to everyone at Liverpool that Karius is now the number one, while Belgian international Simon Mignolet has been pushed to the bench.

After the Porto game, Mignolet posted an eye-catching update on social media.

March 6 was the goalie’s birthday. Mignolet turned 30.

But it doesn’t seem like the keeper enjoyed his special day if his Instagram update is anything to go by. He wrote:

Thanks for the more than 54000 Reds who turned up for my Birthday party tonight. Not happy with my seat but double happy for the lads to get us qualified!

Most believe that Mignolet will leave Liverpool at the end of the season. The keeper is under contract until 2021.

At the same time, there has been plenty of speculation about Liverpool’s goalie targets this summer.

Top of the list is AS Roma stopper Alisson, but the rumours are Roma want close to 90 million pounds for the Brazilian number one.
