Crystal Palace 1 – Liverpool 2
Liverpool geared up for their Champions League quarterfinal clash with Man City with a win on Saturday in the Premier League.
Jurgen Klopp’s men had to come from behind to win at Crystal Palace.
A Luka Milivojevic penalty put Palace ahead, but goals from Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah turned the game in the second half.
Liverpool fans vs Garth Crooks
Every Monday on the BBC’s website, Garth Crooks compiles his Premier League team of the week.
A hugely popular article, Crooks’ selection can often upset EPL fans.
This week Sadio Mane was the only Liverpool star included in the XI, however Crooks used the opportunity to bash Jurgen Klopp.
In explaining why Mane was in his team, the BBC journalist wrote:
For an hour Sadio Mane terrified Crystal Palace. But how Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp had the brass neck to even suggest the striker deserved a penalty after James McArthur appeared to make contact in the box I have no idea.
Referee Neil Swarbrick gave Mane the benefit of the doubt by not issuing a second yellow card for Mane grabbing the ball. And Klopp had the temerity to criticise the referee in his post-match interview for not awarding Liverpool a penalty?
Mane was lucky to be on the pitch at all. As for Klopp he should just have said thank you and gone on his way.
Those comments have gone down badly with Liverpool fans on social media.
Garth Crooks’ bias against Liverpool is astonishing. When he puts Liverpool players in his team of the week he rarely focuses on their actual performance, but instead uses it as a platform from which to criticise Juergen Klopp. This weeks’ analysis of Mane is just embarrassing.

Garth crooks puts mane in team of the week then bashes Klopp the whole time.
Murphy talking about Alli says class is permanent 🤦🏼♂️
BBC ladies and gentlemen.

Garth Crooks is a bellend. Says Klopp should be grateful that Mané wasn’t sent off and not complain about a penalty. If the fat twat watched his interview, Klopp actually said he expected a red card.
He put Mané in his team of the week purely to have a pop.

Garth Crooks obviously has a problem with Jurgen Klopp, he never wastes an opportunity to criticise him be that for post match interviews or touch line antics but hardly ever tactics based
