Former Tottenham boss and now PSG manager Mauricio Pochettino was exceptionally pleased after a 3-2 victory in Munich against Bayern on Wednesday. The Paris-based club bagged themselves 3 away goals, and an advantage ahead of the return to be played in the French capital.
The game proved a brilliant fixture for the neutral, and featured 5 fantastically put together goals, in addition to Bayern’s typical dominance and an amazing counter-attacking display by PSG.
Pochettino spoke of how the job, despite a fine result, is only half done:
“I am happy with the result and the attitude of the team, who found themselves in difficult situations against the best side in Europe,” the PSG boss said.
“We need to congratulate the players for their sacrifice and we want to repeat this kind of performance.
“Ninety more minutes to play. It is a good result but the return leg will be difficult. We know that.”
Mbappe, Neymar renewals close?
After the club’s victory, PSG sporting director Leonardo was quizzed on the futures of Kylian Mbappe and Neymar, and was positive in his response.
“We will also be happy to talk about contracts. We will have to see things and we will get to a more concrete situation with them soon, but now we have to focus on the competition, which we are entering the final phase,” said Leonardo.
Speaking to Gianluca Di Marzio, he added: “I think we’ll have some news which will make us all happy soon…”

Leonardo was also asked about possible interest in AC Milan keeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, whose contract with the Italian club expires at the end of the season. He was dismissive of the question, though, instead redirecting focus to PSG’s European endeavours.
“Donnarumma? This is a Champions League broadcast, not the transfer market,” said the Brazilian.
