Sevilla 2 – Barcelona 2
It’s 37 and counting!
Can Barcelona go the whole La Liga season unbeaten? After Saturday’s result at Sevilla, who’d bet against them!
Sevilla almost managed to do what no other Spanish club had been able to achieve this season: beat Barcelona.
But at the the death it all fell apart.
Sevilla took the lead in the 36th minute when Franco Vazquez scored inside the Catalans box.
Despite Barca having plenty of players in the area, no-one picked up Vazquez, who scored.
Barcelona fell 2-down at the start of the second half when Luis Muriel doubled the advantage.
That provoked Ernesto Valverde into bringing Leo Messi off the bench with over thirty minutes remaining.
Leo Messi is insane
Despite Messi’s introduction, it looked increasingly likely that Sevilla were going to beat Barcelona in the second half.
But then, in 54 seconds, Barcelona scored twice to rip up the script and reassert their absolute brilliance.
Luis Suarez scored the first in the 88th minute. The striker buried a corner at the back post.
And then it was time for Leo Messi, as the Argentine marked his return from an adductor injury with a 25-yard curler.
Cue the wild social media reactions.

Say what you like about Denis, but you know full well Paulinho would’ve smashed that ball into row Z before realising Messi was actually running into it to score.
