Kane wants out
The news the Tottenham fans have been dreading has seemingly been revealed as Harry Kane’s future at Spurs could be reaching a conclusive stage.
The striker came through the club’s youth academy before breaking into the first team and becoming a stalwart in the starting XI and establishing himself as one of the Premier League’s top forwards.
Now England captain, Kane is 27-years-old and without a major trophy in his senior career. It is therefore unsurprising to see the news break that he supposedly wants to move away from Spurs this summer.
The Athletic have revealed that Kane has plans to seek a new club in the 2021 summer window with the hope that his new situation will present opportunities to win silverware.
Tottenham find themselves in a League Cup final this season against Manchester City and therefore considerable underdogs in the clash. Despite this, however, even if Spurs were to win the 3rd tier competition, the prospects for Spurs winning the likes of the Premier League and Champions League this, next season or the future are slim.
Kane to where?
The biggest issue will be finding a club for the striker. It may be surprising to consider that this would be a challenge considering his quality, however, with his high level of output comes a significant transfer fee.
Spurs will be wanting to cash in as much as possible on their star forward should they allow a sale in the summer and considering the figures being associated with players such as Erling Haaland it would not be beyond imagining to see a price tag of above a 100 million-pound attached to Kane.
The obvious link to make immediately is Manchester City. With Sergio Aguero leaving this summer thanks to his contract expiring, the club could be in search of recruiting a top striker to replace the Argentine. However, Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola has pointed out that it will be unlikely they will spend a significant figure on a striker this summer.
Manchester United are also supposedly interested in taking the 27-year old but face competition from the likes of Real Madrid.
Spurs will be concerned that their other stars such as Heung-min Son seeing Kane leave will also want to seek pastures new considering the clubs’ competitiveness is likely to drop in the absence of the forward.
