Inter Milan refuse Arsenal’s Lacazette swap proposals in chase for Lautaro Martinez

Inter Milan refuse Arsenal’s Lacazette swap proposals in chase for Lautaro Martinez

Arsenal chase Martinez

In the last week, Arsenal have been looking at Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez.

The Italian side are in a situation whereby they must look to raise funds because of an issue with their Chinese ownership.

Having already sold Achraf Hakimi to PSG, Martinez is another valuable asset which could be used to balance the books and Arsenal are looking to take advantage of that.

Hector Bellerin is also wanted by the Nerazzurri to be the departed Moroccan international’s replacement.

Arsenal have looked to use this interest in order to help in their push for the forward. However, the Gunners are well stocked in the forward line.

Alexandre Lacazette joins Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Eddie Nketiah, Folarin Balogun and Gabriel Martinelli who have all been used in the central striking position.

Due to this congestion, Arsenal were looking to include the French striker in the possible deal, seeing him move in the opposite direction.

However, according to Gazzetta dello Sport via Inter Magazine, the Nerazzurri have firmly turned down the proposal.

Inter’s no was dry, this is not the way to tempt the Nerazzurri against the Argentine. On Lautaro it is right to specify some passages. The first: Marotta and Ausilio value the Argentine no less than 80 million euros.

Arsenal may then need to move ahead with plans to sell off Lacazette elsewhere in addition to others such as Lucas Torreira, Granit Xhaka, Joe Willock and Ainsley Maitland-Niles.

There are others that could leave but unlikely to garner the fee to help with a push for Martinez.

Arsenal still need to ensure that they improve in their areas of need such as central midfield, attacking midfield, right-back and backup goalkeeper.

Links in these areas have been frequent but loose and after 50 million pounds spent on a centre-half, how much of the budget is left this summer is a big concern with so many parts of the team needing improvement.
