“If they get Jack Grealish & Harry Kane we might as well not bother turning up” football reacts to Harry Kane’s push to move to City

Harry Kane fails to arrive at training

It has been confirmed that the reason behind Harry Kane’s absence from Tottenham pre-season training is nothing to do with anything other than his own choice.

Expected to return today, the ‘gentlemen’s agreement’ between the club and its star striker was for him to leave this summer according to Fabrizio Romano.

Manchester City are the main club in the hunt to bring in the England forward.

So far, the club were reported to have tabled a £100 million bid for the forward but a move has been no closer to materialising.

“We might as well not bother”

The possibility of seeing Harry Kane at Manchester City next season with the talent already in the team is quite something.

Former Spurs midfielder Jamie O’Hara told Sky Sports that the rest of the league may as well not even bother turning up. Considering the quality of Kane and the possibility of Jack Grealish joining too, it could be quite some side come the end of the window.

“If they get Jack Grealish & Harry Kane we might as well not bother turning up to the Premier League next season,” said O’Hara.

The deals still need to be done and the idea of spending more than £200 million on two players is of a level where questions would be asked as to how they managed it – even with relaxed FFP rulings.
