Mourinho hits back at Solskjaer
During the match between Manchester United and Spurs in which Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team came away with a 2-1 victory, controversy was rife after a Edinson Cavani’s goal was disallowed after Heung-min Son was deemed to have been fouled by Scott McTominay.
After the match, Solskjaer condemned the actions of Son who he claimed to have made the most of the incident.
“I have to say, if my son stays down like this for three minutes and gets 10 of his mates around him… if he gets that in the face from one of his other mates and he needs 10 of his mates to help him up, he won’t get any food,” said Solskjaer.
Mourinho responded defending his player.
“It is very, very sad. I think it’s really sad that you don’t ask me about it. It’s really sad that you don’t have the moral honesty to treat me the same way you treat others,” protested Mourinho.
“I just want to say, Sonny is very lucky that his father is a better person than Ole, because I think a father – I am a father – you have to always feed your kids, it doesn’t matter what they do.
“If you have to steal to feed your kids, you steal. I am very, very disappointed, and like we say in Portugal bread is bread and cheese is cheese, I told Ole already what I think about his comments.”
Solskjaer’s son responds
However, in what seems to be an exceptionally surprising turn of events, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s son has publicly responded to the Portuguese coach’s insults.
“I always get food. I can assure everyone about that,” said Noah Solskjaer to a local newspaper Tidens Krav in Kristiansund.
“Mourinho probably just wanted to take the focus away from the fact that they had lost.”
Arguably Noah has fulfilled the dream of many a rival football fan of the team which Jose Mourinho manages.
The Portuguese coach has made a reputation from being antagonistic during press conferences and interviews.
Seeing the veteran coach take flack from the teenager will surely spark some interesting questions in the upcoming press conferences for both Mourinho and Solskjaer.
