How Chelsea’s heroes Mount & Chilwell celebrated in dressing room after Porto win

How Chelsea’s heroes Mount & Chilwell celebrated in dressing room after Porto win

Tuchel proud of goalscorers

Chelsea overcame a spirited Porto performance to depart Seville with a significant 2-0 victory, away goals in the bag and the tag of clear favourites to progress to the semi-finals of the Champions League.

Goals from Ben Chilwell and Mason Mount proved the difference in the match, and coach Thomas Tuchel spoke of his happiness for both players:

“I’m very happy he [Mason] scored, it was a very important goal, an away goal which opened up the game and helped everybody’s nerves. It wasn’t an easy shot, but it was very precise,” said Tuchel.

“Chilwell’s goal was excellent, he’s not a regular scorer but he kept his composure, went around the goalkeeper and it was super important to get the second away goal.

“We lacked a bit of rhythm and precision while attacking but there was always a chance to maybe get a goal from a mistake from the opponent, and Chilwell forced one and kept his cool in the box.”

The goals will not only excite the German coach, but also Gareth Southgate ahead of the European Championships, with both players in line for an England call-up.

Southgate will hope that such goalscoring form can continue into the tournament, as England push towards their first international trophy since 1966.

Chilwell & Mount selfie celebration

The goalscoring duo decided to take to social media in order to celebrate their respective debut Champions League goals, and were caught by striker Tammy Abraham, who himself uploaded a video:

And, right on cue, the selfie was indeed posted to both players’ Instagram pages, albeit with taglines assuring that the job is not yet done:
