Spurs handed Harry Kane boost ahead of Wolves clash on Sunday

Tottenham boss Nuno Espírito Santo has given Spurs fans cause to celebrate, after including England star man Harry Kane in his traveling squad to face Wolves at Molineux on Sunday afternoon.

Espírito Santo will make his return to the ground that saw him propel Wolves back into the Premier League and to a top-seven place for two consecutive years after their successful promotion campaign back in 2017-18.

Kane, who is not necessarily expected to be included in the matchday XI, will at least be fit enough to make the Spurs bench, as Tottenham look to push onward after their opening weekend win against Manchester City at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium, which came without Kane in the team.

Espírito Santo had previously provided an update on Kane’s situation at the club, and his availability, citing fitness concerns as being behind his failure to feature against both City and in Spurs’ loss to Pacos de Ferreira in a Europa Conference League qualifier on Thursday evening.

Beyond that, Pep Guardiola’s City remains interested in bringing Kane to the Etihad this summer if it becomes financially feasible to strike a deal with Tottenham, who, to their credit, remain determined to secure the maximum financial restitution for their star man, should they be made to part ways with the England goal machine.

Amid rumors of a second bid being readied, this is one transfer saga that has hardly reached its conclusion, despite Spurs potentially being forced to keep Kane with two alternative targets in Dusan Vlahović and Lautaro Martínez now off the market.
