Which team will you choose?
We bring you five teams you should consider managing in Football Manager 2020, as Sports Interactive make the game free to play until the 25th.
In this dark time, we could all use a little bit of enjoyment.
With COVID-19 spreading through the world, many people are currently self-isolating in their homes.
Thankfully for all of us, Sports Interactive have produced a brilliant idea.
They’ve decided to make Football Manager 2020 free to play until March 25th.
The football management simulation game was released back in October of 2019.
Since releasing, Football Manager 2020 has a score of 84 on Metacritic, which basically means it’s a very good game.
Now, as you get your chance to try it for free, we’re here to recommend five teams you should consider managing.
Following the winter transfer window update, Borussia Dortmund have one of the most exciting attacks in the game.
The German side signed none other than Erling Braut Haaland in January, adding to an attack that also features Jadon Sancho and Julian Brandt.
That attack is already appealing enough to choose Borussia Dortmund as your team.
The signing of Emre Can to complement Axel Witsel, meanwhile, also provides a very solid base in the centre of midfield.
Your task: knock Bayern Munich off their Bundesliga perch.
Sunderland are the fallen giants of the Premier League.
Not that long ago, the Black Cats were hoping to remain in the top-flight for as long as they could.
However, following their relegation to the Championship, Sunderland fell even further the season after.
Now, they reside in League One, and are looking to rebuild.
In Football Manager 2020, though, you can be the one to rebuild them.
Jon McLaughlin, Jordan Willis and Joel Lynch provide a solid base at the back, but there is some work to be done in the transfer market to improve other areas.
Your task: take Sunderland back to the Premier League.
The Italian side somewhat shocked the world when they completed the signing of Mario Balotelli.
Currently sat bottom of Serie A in real life, it’s safe to say that they need a steady hand.
There won’t be much of a transfer budget, but there’s enough to strengthen in some problem positions.
Balotelli and young star Sandro Tonali will provide the base of your team, with the latter an extremely talented midfielder.
However, your save will largely boil down to if you can convince him to stay!
Task: establish yourself as a top-half Serie A side.
After the January transfer window, Inter have one of the most exciting squads in the game.
The Italian giants signed Christian Eriksen from Tottenham, and secured squad signings like Ashley Young and Victor Moses.
Those only add to a talented squad that boats top-tier players like Romelu Lukaku, Diego Godin, Milan Škriniar, Lautaro Martinez and Samir Handanovic.
While it may not be on the level of the previous greats to feature for Inter Milan, there is a very talented base to achieve greatness again.
Your task: restore Inter Milan to their former glory, Serie A winners and Champions League contenders.
Real Sociedad are starting to build a very exciting team.
Youngsters such as Martin Odegaard, Alexander Isak, Mikel Merino and Adnan Januzaj are all talented options in the squad.
While the former is only on loan from Real Madrid, there is a youthful base to build upon.
Tottenham-linked Willian José also features upfront.
Add the sprinkle of experience from Nacho Monreal’s signing, and there is the potential to build something special.
Your task: challenge La Liga giants Barcelona & Real Madrid for the title.
