Fans set to be treated to best front three in world football as Paris Saint-Germain kick off Champions League campaign

Lionel Messi joins Paris Saint-Germain

In a move that kicked off an absolute circus of a transfer window, Lionel Messi left Barcelona in controversial circumstances after the club could not afford to renew his contract.

Within a week, the Argentine joined Paris Saint-Germain on an initial two-year deal, with an option for a third.

The 34-year-old forward, widely considered as the best in the world, has only made one substitute appearance for Mauricio Pochettino’s side thus far, when he linked up with Kylian Mbappe.

And Mbappe, the subject of bids from Real Madrid on deadline day, has since remained at PSG against the odds, meaning he will enjoy a full season with Messi at the very least, which could convince him to remain at the Parc des Princes beyond the end of his current deal.

Messi, Neymar and Mbappe set to link up against Club Brugge

As per both La Parisien and L’Equipe, Mauricio Pochettino is set to unleash his three world-class forwards in their Champions League opener against Club Brugge.

This would mark the first time that the three have played together since they were united in the summer, though Messi and Neymar played together at Barcelona. Could the trio become the best we have ever seen, even just for a season?
