Dortmund’s Moukoko out for the season as Haaland at risk of missing second leg vs City
Moukoko out for the season
Borussia Dortmund wonderkid striker Youssoufa Moukoko, who has scored 3 goals in 14 appearances in his breakout campaign, has been ruled out until the end of the season.
The number of appearances he has made does diminish the goals per match ratio but when considering he has played just 410 minutes, at 16, he is averaging a goal in the Bundesliga every 137 minutes mainly as a substitute.
However, his season will see no more action after it was confirmed he would be missing for the rest of the campaign.

The injury occurred whilst away with the German under 21 side at the European Championships.
“The injury is worse than initially feared,” said Germany U21 coach Stefan Kuntz. “We have to let the healing process run its course.”
Haaland suspension worry
With Borussia Dortmund facing Manchester City in the last 8 of the Champions League the loss of Moukoko is unlikely to have been a major blow to the club considering he is not yet a consistent starter in the team with the likes of Erling Haaland leading the line.
DORTMUND, GERMANY – MARCH 09: Erling Haaland of Borussia Dortmund celebrates after scoring their side’s second goal from the penalty spot during the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 match between Borussia Dortmund and Sevilla FC at Signal Iduna Park on March 09, 2021 in Dortmund, Germany. However, it could soon become a problem if the Norwegian striker was to get booked in the game.
Haaland has racked up enough bookings that he is now just one more away from seeing himself suspended in the second leg.
Manchester City also have the likes of Joao Cancelo and Fernandinho just one yellow card away from their own suspension.
Although, considering the importance of Haaland to Dortmund and City’s strength in depth, BVB will want to avoid him seeing yellow at all costs.
Should he get suspended, it is likely Marco Reus would deputise in a central role.
