Chigwell madness rumour: Gareth Bale’s Real Madrid exit & Tottenham return

Is Gareth Bale returning to Tottenham?

A huge rumour is spreading fast around Tottenham fans on Tuesday linking Gareth Bale with a Tottenham return.

The source of the rumour is Tommy Sandhu: who is labelled by Wikipedia as a “British DJ, remixer, producer and television presenter”.

Sandhu has piqued the interests of Tottenham fans by claiming that Gareth Bale has bought a house in Chigwell.

Of course Tottenham move into their new stadium at the start of next season.

Could Levy be ready to welcome back Bale for what could prove to be a remarkable 2018-19 campaign for the Lillywhites?

Tottenham’s first option on Bale

So is the rumour true?

At this stage we have no idea, but what we do know for sure is that Tottenham have an option to buy-back Bale.

When Spurs sold Bale to Real Madrid, Daniel Levy inserted a clause into the contract that Tottenham have a right of first refusal when it comes to Bale’s Madrid exit.

In recent months the rumours of Bale’s possible Los Blancos exit have got louder.

Man United have been regularly named as a possible suitor for the Welsh forward.

Last season marked a particularly difficult period in the 28-year-old’s career, with Bale managing just 17 La Liga starts across the entire campaign, as ankle and calf problems kept him out of action for over 4 months combined.

The current campaign has seen Bale handed starts in exactly half of the Spanish and European champions’ league outings, along with just a pair of starts in the Champions League.
