Cadiz ran out 2-1 winners against Valencia in yesterday’s La Liga clash. However, the match was marred by an accused incident of racism between Cadiz goalscorer Juan Cala and Valencia’s Mouctar Diakhaby.
With the scores at 1-1 after goals from Cala and Kevin Gameiro, Diakhaby was seen in an altercation with the aforementioned Cadiz goalscorer.
Valencia players left the field in a show of togetherness before returning without Diakhaby.

Cadiz went on to win the match thanks to a goal from Marcos Mauro. Cala too was withdrawn before the game’s conclusion.
Juan Cala to hold presser
Valencia boss Javi Gracia told press after the game that they were told that had they not returned to the field of play they could have faced a sanction.
“Logically we decided to tell the referee we didn’t agree with that [playing on] and that we didn’t want to continue playing. While we were in the dressing room we were told we could potentially be sanctioned if we didn’t return,” said the former Watford boss.
“We spoke to Diakhaby, he said he was not able to play but he understood we needed to return to play rather than be sanctioned and so we returned with the intention to fight for the victory.”
It has now been revealed that Cadiz’s Juan Cala, accused with making a ‘very ugly insult’ says Valencia’s Jose Gaya who refused to repeat it when questioned, will now address the media on Tuesday.
A statement from Cadiz read, ‘Juan Cala will appear this Tuesday at a press conference at the conclusion of the training session in the sports city.’
