Benjamin Mendy injury update before Man City vs Brighton

Benjamin Mendy’s foot injury

Manchester City fans, plus a load of Fantasy Premier League managers, are trying to find out injury information on Benjamin Mendy.

Mendy’s has had difficult time with injuries since arriving at Man City from Monaco.

The French World Cup winner missed the majority of last season through injury.

And, having returned to action at the start of the season, Mendy is back on the treatment table.

Mendy has missed Man City’s last four matches against Fulham, Lyon, Cardiff and Oxford.

Pep Guardiola has confirmed that his defender has a foot problem. But Man City have stayed tight-lipped on Mendy’s comeback timetable.

Man City vs Brighton

Man City return to Premier League action on Saturday at home to Brighton.

Will Mendy feature? Right now that’s still unknown.

After Man City beat Oxford United in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday, no news updates on Mendy came out.

The best advice for those anxious Man City fans and FPL managers is to wait until Friday for a possible update.

That’s when Guardiola is next scheduled to speak to the press before the Brighton match.

With that said, it feels unlikely that Mendy will play against the Seagulls.

Mendy hasn’t been at training for the Sky Blues in the past few days, which seems like an important indicator on the defender’s progress.

Moreover, Brighton are extremely poor on the road in the Premier League. Man City should have more than enough to beat Chris Hughton’s men without Mendy’s involvement, which could be another reason why the defender may miss out.
