Even when Leo Messi dives, he is still the most honest player on the planet (video)

Well played Messi….or?

Messi stars in Osasuna win

As is his wont, Leo Messi popped up with a couple of important goals for Barcelona today.

The Catalans have traditionally found the going difficult up north at Osasuna, and they were made to work for their 3 points today.

Luis Suarez opened the scoring, before Messi popped up with a late brace to wrap up the 3-0 win.

Dives, then admits his error

But aside from his 2 goals, Leo Messi was also involved in a controversial incident in the 2nd half.

Anticipating a challenge from an Osasuna player, he fell over without being touched, as many attackers often do – it happened with Pogba a couple of weeks ago.

But once Messi realized that no contact had been made, he realized his error and told the ref.

All the same, he could have been booked for the initial dive, but the ref perhaps took clemency after Messi’s confession.

Messi never dives

For so much of his career, you could never accuse Leo Messi of a dive.

In some ways you cannot call this one a dive either, it is basically one of the most honest pieces of football in history.

Messi’s failure to dive throughout a remarkable goal-laden career means that these types of incidents will always be applauded and talked about when people analyse the mystic of Messi.
