Liverpool & Valencia’s Ferran Torres
Spanish football expert Guillem Balague has revealed this week that Liverpool are keeping tabs on Valencia youngster Ferran Torres.
Balague has revealed his insight into Liverpool’s pursuit of Torres on the Sky Sports website:
He is 18-years-old and did very well against France in the international break for Spain Under-19s even though they did not make the European Championships.
Torres was the best player for Spain at Under-19 level and the only one playing regularly in the top division.
He has played six out of the last seven games, 11 in total this season, and quite clearly Valencia want to keep him.
Will there be a Torres back at Anfield next season?
Balague also discussed Ferran Torres in his most recent YouTube video. In that he confirmed that the Reds “really like” Torres, while Valencia are also under financial pressure to sell players.
Valencia have financial problems
Los Che need to bring in around 35 million euros before June 1 in order to comply with UEFA’s Financial Fair Play rules.
Could a Torres move to Liverpool plug that financial hole?
Balague believes the more likely solution for Valencia will be to sell Spanish international striker Rodrigo this summer.
Rodrigo recently scored for Spain against Germany in the international break. The striker was also on target last weekend in a 1-0 away win at Leganes.
Balague believes that Rodrigo could be headed to Atletico Madrid, as the Rojiblancos are poised to sell Antoine Griezmann to Barcelona.
