Protests & bids
Arsenal fans were out in their thousands on Friday evening, to attend a protest calling for the club’s owner, Stan Kroenke, to sell.
Most animosity between supporters and the American has gone back several years, but the news regarding the Super League last week only increased vocal backlash.
After seeing the protests, Spotify Founder Daniel Ek threw his metaphorical hat into the ring as a potential buyer at the Emirates, to the delight of supporters.
As a kid growing up, Iâve cheered for @Arsenal as long as I can remember. If KSE would like to sell Arsenal I’d be happy to throw my hat in the ring.

However, despite the hope, it appears that any chance of a sale is very slim.
David Ornstein reported this morning that the Kroenke ownership would only consider selling the club, were they to receive an ‘astronomical’ bid.
🗣 “They’re not going anywhere, it would take something astronomical for them to consider selling.” @David_Ornstein says the Kroenke’s are long-term investors and there’s a very slim chance they will sell Arsenal pic.twitter.com/2w31HFiXlw

The Telegraph, meanwhile, suggest that KSE would be willing to sell if a bid in the region of £2 billion came in. Could this be the ‘astronomical figure’ that The Athletic reporter was alluding to?
Josh Kroenke attended a Fan Forum this week, during which he assured supporters that he and his father have ‘no intention’ of selling Arsenal.
Instead, the pair are said to have ‘big plans’ to invest, keen to rebuild trust with the supporter base.
