Arsenal transfer listed players revealed
Arsenal are looking to overhaul their squad this summer with Mikel Arteta saying that he needs to be ‘ruthless’ in the market.
“I think a project has its phases and I am telling you we are in a much better position today to be where we want to be very soon, if we do what we have to do. But we have to be ruthless,” he said.
âWe cannot be crying and stuck on what we donât have. We have to see what we do have and maximise it to get what we want.
The players which have been reported to be available for sale this summer are:
- Bernd Leno
- Hector Bellerin
- Lucas Torreira
- Matteo Guendouzi
- Ainsley Maitland-Niles
- Sead Kolasinac
Interestingly, Alexandre Lacazette, Willian, Mohamed Elneny, Reiss Nelson, Joe Willock and Eddie Nketiah are all not mentioned.
Players that many Arsenal fans have been keen to see the club move on and make some capital from.
Leno open to ‘new adventure’
Leno has previously spoken of his openness to leaving the club in equal measure to his desire to stay.
“Not yet and at the moment it’s not the time to speak about the future,” he said last month. “I know that I still have two years left on my contract and I’m also 29,” said the former Bayer Leverkusen stopper.
“For a goalkeeper, that’s not too old. I’ve still got some years to go. I’m very happy at the club. I don’t know what will come in the future, but I’m open to everything.
“Maybe for a new adventure or to stay at Arsenal. Like I said, I don’t think about my future because two years is a long time. At the moment there are no conversations with the club or anything else.”
Arsenal would need to bring in two keepers this summer should Leno leave with Mat Ryan set to return to Brighton after his loan deal with the Gunners expires.
Torreira & Guendouzi situations
Lucas Torreira has spoken bluntly about his Arsenal future of late, even saying he wishes to leave specifically to Boca Juniors.
The Uruguayan’s mother passed away recently and it is said he is not happy living away from his family and wants to return to South America.
His father has also said more about his situation and hopes an agreement with Arsenal can be made.
“We want to resolve Arsenal’s departure first and then sit down with Boca. If they believe it is convenient that Lucas is the player, they will exhaust the resources to reach an agreement. It is obvious that Boca will have to spend, Arsenal will want to something in return. But it is not that Lucas is going to lose value by coming to Boca,” he said.
Arteta has responded to the quotes from Torreira and his father which you can find out more about here.
Guendouzi is not a surprise inclusion having fallen out with Mikel Arteta at the club and was sent on loan this season to Germany.
Hertha Berlin sporting director Arne Friedrich confirmed the Frenchman will return to Arsenal. Despite praising the young midfielder, they do not intend to make the move permanent.
“He led the boys. He played very, very good games and always gave everything for the club,â Friedrich said.
“But the fact is that he does not belong to Hertha and is going back.”
Arsenal will hope they can get a decent fee despite him having just one year left on his current deal.
