Jack Wilshere struggles against Slovakia
Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere was handed his first start of Euro 2016 by Roy Hodgson but lasted only 56 minutes in a poor individual performance against Slovakia.
The 24-year-old star has barely played for Arsenal this season due to injury problems – and it showed tonight!
Jack Wilshere was hauled off early in the second half and looks highly unlikely to start another game at this summer’s European Championships in France.
He was trending on Twitter in the United Kingdom and there were very few positive tweets about him. See some of the best tweets below.
England dominate but draw 0-0
Like in England’s opening game against Russia, the Three Lions completely dominated proceedings but failed to take all three points.
A Gareth Bale inspired Wales beat Russia 3-0 and – despite losing 2-1 to England – qualify top of the group after winning their other two games.
England’s 0-0 draw with Slovakia may well cost them dearly.
Has Wilshere been giving the ball away little bit? Yes. But, look, he has been giving it away with outstanding quality.

Fair play to the Make a Wish foundation for making Jack Wilshere's dreams come true before he dies of bad legs.

I keep thinking Clive Tyldesley is describing Jack Wilshere's performance every time he says 'Dier'. Keith

Wilshere looking very much like a player who hasn't played much in the last 10 years

Unreal to think that Dele Alli wasn't even born the last time Jack Wilshere played a full 90 minutes of football.

Watching Jack Wilshere this evening, you'd think he'd barely played all season.

Wayne Rooney replaces Jack Wilshere, who will be joining Raheem Sterling on the tournament scrapheap.
