Arsenal’s David Seaman & Ronaldinho
Remember when Ronaldinho lobbed David Seaman back in 2002?
Seaman was an undoubted legend for Arsenal and England in his playing days.
During his career, Seaman won the league title three times, the FA Cup four times, and the League Cup once. He also lifted the European Cup Winners’ Cup.
However the Gunners icon had one week spot when it came to being lobbed from distance.
Former Tottenham midfielder Nayim famously lobbed Seaman ‘from the halfway line’ as Real Zaragoza beat Arsenal in the 1995 UEFA Cup Winners’ Cup Final.
In the 2002 World Cup, it was the turn of Brazil’s Ronaldinho to shame the England stopper.
Ronaldinho beat Seaman with a long range free-kick as England tumbled out the World Cup.
Seaman reacts badly
On Monday, the Arsenal legend was in attendance at the FIFA Best Awards in London.
As Seaman made his way into the building with his partner, a group of Brazil fans spotted the former Arsenal goalie.
Cue heckles of ‘Ronaldinho, Ronaldinho’ at Seaman.
In return, Seaman turned to the crowd to give them the finger.
In fairness, Seaman had a huge grin on his face at the time.
Here’s the reaction from the Brazilian fans to Seaman.
