Riyad Mahrez

Arsenal or Chelsea? Riyad Mahrez filmed leaving the Emirates Stadium

Arsenal 2 – Chelsea 1

So the Carabao Cup final will be Man City versus Arsenal.

Arsenal, who were recently dumped out the FA Cup in the 3rd round away at Nottingham Forest, reached the showpiece final beating Chelsea 2-1 on aggregate in their semifinal.

After a 0-0 draw at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea took the lead early doors at Arsenal. Eden Hazard continued his fine scoring form as the false nine broke the home offside trap and slipped his shot into the net.

But Arsenal weren’t behind for long. Nacho Monreal continued his recent goal threat as his header took two deflections en route to goal.

And Arsenal benefitted from another deflection in the second half as Granit Xhaka steered home the winner after good work from Alexandre Lacazette.

Riyad Mahrez filmed by Arsenal Fan TV

Long after the game ended, Arsenal Fan TV posted a video on social media with the title: ‘Arsenal’s next signing spotted leaving the Emirates? Riyad Mahrez rolling out from The Emirates Stadium.’

The video showed Leicester’s Algerian star being driven from Arsenal’s stadium. Of course the footage immediately went viral.

Putting two and two together to get five, could Mahrez be leaving Leicester this window? And who could he be joining: Arsenal or Chelsea?

It’s also worth noting that Leicester striker Islam Slimani was also at the Arsenal vs Chelsea game.

Slimani revealed his attendance at the game on Instagram.

If you had to put money on it, bet on Mahrez staying at the King Power Stadium this January.

The north African star has been in sublime form for the Foxes in recent weeks as Leicester, and Claude Puel in particular, has made it clear Mahrez is staying put.

Mahrez has been given the captain’s armband in recent weeks as Leicester have shown just how valuable the winger is to their team.

Moreover, Leicester and Puel have repeatedly stated Mahrez is remaining at the club.
