Aguero’s brother slams strikers treatment under Guardiola as details of Barcelona contract are revealed

Aguero’s brother slams strikers treatment under Guardiola as details of Barcelona contract are revealed

Aguero left in tears

Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero was left in tears after the Champions League final defeat to Chelsea.

The Argentine was brought on as a second-half substitute but was unable to even get on the ball to make an impact.

It was his final match for the Citizens with his contract expiring.

There are expectations he is set to make the move to La Liga, where his stock grew at Atletico Madrid, but take on the colours of the Blaugrana in Catalonia.

His move to Barcelona is set to be confirmed soon according to Fabrizio Romano.

Aguero’s brother slams Guardiola

Aguero’s brother reacted rashly on social media and tweeted a direct stab at Aguero’s coach Pep Guardiola. He quickly deleted it but it was caught and reported by The Times.

“Since Guardiola arrived at City, he has never liked my brother,” said Maurico del Castillo.

Guardiola was seen in tears on the final day of the Premier League season praising Aguero for his contribution to the club.

“He’s a special person for all of us,” said Guardiola.

“He’s so nice. He helped me a lot, he’s so good. We cannot replace him, we cannot.

“There have been many players at this club, like Joe Hart and David Silva, who have helped us to be this club — what it is.

“We helped his legacy and he showed his quality in 20 minutes.”

The Times also revealed the breakdown of Aguero’s contract which looks to be highly influenced by appearance bonuses.

The Times understands that Agüero has agreed a heavily incentivised two-year contract with Barcelona that is worth in the region of £6.9 million per season, about half the wage he was on at City.

In addition to his basic salary, which equates to about £130,000 per week, Agüero will trigger bonuses depending on how many matches he plays and the number of trophies that he wins during his time at the club.
