These days it is quite rare to hear much about “Wengerball” but before Arsene Wenger joined Arsenal, nearly 20 years ago, the Gunners were not the most exciting of sides.
The Gunners often played dull football, especially under George Graham and were more famous for their dour defensive side and offside trap.
Arsene Wenger changed all that and some of the players that helped change Arsenal’s reputation in England were on show at the Emirates on Saturday.
Nwankwo Kanu scored a hat-trick as AC Milan were beaten by an Arsenal Legends side 4-2 at The Emirates.
Arsenal attempted to score early on and produced a glorious move, involving Marc Overmars, Emmanuel Petit, Gilberto Silva, Robert Pires and Freddi Ljungberg.
A cursory glance at this video might explain why Arsenal fans are so unhappy with how the latter years of Arsene Wenger’s reign has gone…
