Two of Serie A’s most impressive clubs will meet at the Dacia Arena this Sunday afternoon with Udinese playing hosts to one of the title favourites after registering yet another win in Serie A with Inter Milan looking for nothing but consistency right now.
Prior to the start of the season, many were looking at Inter as clear title favourites with the addition of Romelu Lukaku. Inter have been anything but convincing in this sense, and they now sit sixth in the league with one win and one loss in the Champions League too. Edin Dzeko and Denzel Dunfries were the difference in securing all three points in Europe on Tuesday, as they defeated Viktoria Plzen 2-0.
Back in Serie A, Simeone Inzaghi’s side are still feeling the heat from the Milan derby loss to champions AC Milan. This consequently keeps Inter in sixth right now with two losses on the board after also losing to Maurizio Sarri’s Lazio three weeks ago. On the other hand, with 12 goals scored after six games, only the table-topping Napoli have scored more than them so far.
At the same time, Udinese also have 12 goals on record after six outing, with four of these coming in the famous 4-0 demolition of Jose Mourinho’s Roma. Udinese have been sensational so far this season and with them sitting fourth early on, the club have won four games, drawn once and lost the other game. In fact, they are a point ahead of Inter already, and sit just one behind the top three, Milan, Atalanta and Napoli.
Udinese also managed to defeat Sassuolo 3-1 away from home last time, and with excellent results on the road and at home this season, it’s beginning to look more like consistency in winning, rather than just a short purple patch for last season’s 12th-placed side. Against Inter, however, Udinese faces their toughest test.
