Two sides right by one another in the league table will meet in Serie A this Wednesday night at the Dacia Arena with Udinese playing hosts to Fiorentina with both clubs now fairly desperate for a win in game four.
Fiorentina are coming into this one off the back of a commendable draw with the high-flying Napoli on home soil. The club did manage to have five shots on target from a total of 10 efforts, which in itself is worth praising considering Napoli previously scored nine goals in the first two Serie A games.
It does, however, mean back-to-back goalless draws for the Florence outfit to work with in Serie A, as they also drew 0-0 with Empoli in their second game, but with a 0-0 draw coming against Twente in the Europa Conference League playoffs, it’s now three in a row with this scoreline.
Fiorentina did manage to beat Twente in the first leg of the Europa League qualifiers, however, which does mean they’ve won two games this season in all competitions and remain winless after their 3-2 victory over Cremonese.
As for Udinese, they have won one, lost one and drawn the other so far in Serie A after a narrow 2-1 victory over Monza got their season off and running. Beto netted in that game, with Destiny Udogie scoring the winning goal for his side to end a winless run of two games.
The form from either side so far makes this one tough to predict, and Fiorentina will be confident in getting all three points after halting the attacking excellence of Napoli last weekend.
