Sampdoria are still in the relegation zone ahead of welcoming Fiorentina to Genoa this weekend with the home side still having just one win on the board in Serie A this season with Fiorentina up into 13th after beating Spezia.
Despite a grim reading when looking at the league table, the Florence outfit come into this game with just one loss in their past six games in all competitions. Moreover, that defeat came to Inter Milan in a brutal 4-3 defeat, as Inter netted in the 95th minute of the game to seal all three points. The other Serie A results in October saw Fiorentina draw with Lecce and beat Spezia last time out.
They also managed to beat RFS 3-0 in the Europa Conference League too, not long after registering wins over Hearts and Istanbul Basaksehir in this time too. Nevertheless, despite the improved form, Fiorentina are still in 13th and with just three wins on the board from 12 games.
As for Sampdoria, it’s been one of the worst starts to a season in their Serie A history so far, with them netting six goals in the league - only Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League have an equally poor record across Europe’s top five leagues.
This only win for the club came in a narrow 1-0 win over Cremonese back two weeks ago, as they went straight back to the losing column with a 3-0 loss to Inter Milan at the San Siro last weekend.
