Match preview

Will Ross County's excellent form continue?

On Wednesday night, Joseph Hungbo's penalty was enough as the Staggies beat Motherwell 1-0 at Fir Park.

This means Malky Mackay's men have secured back-to-back wins for the first time this season, also beating St Johnstone 3-1 a week ago.

Regan Charles-Cook's brace in that one seeing them come from behind to claim victory.

So, despite the fact they were pre-season favourites for relegation, Ross County are now eighth, ten clear of danger, and just below the top six places.

St Mirren meanwhile are one place below the hosts but this is only the case due to goal difference.

The Buddies come into this having suffered back-to-back defeats, both 2-0, at home to Hearts last weekend and then at Celtic Park in midweek.

Before Jim Goodwin's departure, the Saints were unbeaten in five, winning four of those, but Stephen Robinson is still searching for his first victory.

Will it come at Victoria Park?

Ross County team news

Ross County's XI is very settled just now and, given that they're winning games, why not?

As they've shown in the last week, Regan Charles-Cook and Joseph Hungbo are the main men for goals.

These two got the decisive goals against St Johnstone and Motherwell respectively that have seen their side leap away from danger.

St Mirren team news

St Mirren have welcomed back Eamonn Brophy after a spell out injured; he's come off the bench in each of the last two.

January arrival Alex Greive was also a substitute at Celtic Park with Curtis Main leading the line.

However, here, Greive or Brophy are more likely to get the nod.

Stephen Robinson played a 5-4-1 against the league-leaders but one of those defenders is likely to make way for a more attacking option here.
