Can Dundee climb off the bottom of the Premiership table?

On Wednesday night, the Dark Blues held Hibs to a goalless draw at Dens Park; the away side played the final half an hour down to ten-men.

That is Mark McGhee's first points since taking over as manager following back-to-back defeats, 3-2 at Celtic Park and 4-0 at home to Livingston.

Overall, the Dee have won just one of their last 13 Scottish Premiership games so, unsurprisingly, are bottom of the table.

However, they are just one point below St Johnstone and with a game in hand which is against St Mirren this forthcoming Wednesday.

On the flip side, Dundee are now a whopping ten points from guaranteed safety.

Will the visitors claim a massive victory in North Lanarkshire?

Motherwell meanwhile are battling to ensure they're part of the top-six club when the split comes around on 9 April.

However, in midweek, the Well's winless run continued as they went down 1-0 at home to Ross County.

This came just three days after the Steelmen had fought back from two down to draw 2-2 with champions Rangers at Ibrox.

Overall though, Graham Alexander's men remain winless in 2022, accumulating a mere four points from 27 available.

This has seen them drop from fourth, guaranteed European football, down to their current position of seventh.

Will the home side be celebrating their first victory since Boxing Day in this one at Fir Park?

Motherwell team news

Graham Alexander continues to shake things up as he seeks to find that winning formulae, especially in attack.

Kevin van Veen remains the first-choice centre-forward.

But, out-wide, Connor Shields and Kaiyne Woolery may have started on Wednesday but Jordan Roberts or Callum Slattery could come in.

Further back, Bevis Mugabi was surprisingly left on the bench against Ross County but is likely to return here.

Fellow defender Victor Nirennold has played just nine minutes since arriving in January from Liga Super Malaysia club UiTM FC.

The Frenchman had previously played for FC Miami City, Fleetwood Town, Senica and SHB Đà Nẵng so not your average career path to Fir Park.

Dundee team news

Mark McGhee meanwhile will serve the fourth of his six-match touchline ban in this one.

The team he'll send out will certainly feature Charlie Adam and Niall McGinn who'll be crucial to Dundee's relegation battle.

Lee Ashcroft could return in defence although, while he's been injured, Jordan McGhee and Ryan Sweeney have been a solid pairing.

Top-scorer Danny Mullen will continue to lead the line.
