Dundee vs St Mirren betting tips: Scottish Premiership preview, predictions and odds

THIS MATCH HAS BEEN POSTPONED

St Mirren have only lost one of their last eight meetings with Dundee but that was their last clash in Paisley in October.

Both teams to score is 19/20.

St Mirren to win and both teams to score is 5/1.

Match preview

They may not have a manager right now but St Mirren's good form continues.

At the weekend, club legend Jim Goodwin left the club for Aberdeen after 119 games in charge, lifting the League Cup in 2013 as captain.

Under interim manager Jamie Langfield, the Buddies travelled to Livingston on Saturday and left the Tony Macaroni Arena with a point.

Greg Kiltie equalised in the second half before Charles Dunne saw red late on.

This point means the Saints are now unbeaten in six Premiership games, amassing 14 points, also reached the Scottish Cup quarter-finals in this time.

Thus, they're now seventh in the table and would climb up to fourth with a victory here, aiming to end their 25-year exile from Europe.

Dundee meantime also have a new man in the dugout, metaphorically speaking at least.

Mark McGhee took charge of the Dark Blues for the first time on Sunday, but watched from the stands as he begins his six-match touchline ban.

The Dee came agonisingly close to a point at Celtic Park in that one, taking a shock lead through Danny Mullen before Ryan Sweeney equalised.

However, the league-leaders won it 3-2 just three minutes from time as Dundee left Glasgow empty handed.

In all, the Dee have now lost eight of their last 11 league games, with their only win since 1 December coming at Tynecastle in Mark McGhee's last match in charge.

So, at the weekend, they slipped to the bottom of the Premiership table, two points below St Johnstone and six adrift Ross County and safety.

Who will enjoy an important win at Dens Park?

Dundee team news

Scotland flag

After an impressive but energy-sapping display at Parkhead, Mark McGhee faces a tough balancing act.

Captain Charlie Adam did not feature in that one but could return here and that would be a big boost.

Niall McGinn was on the bench at Parkhead but came off it and made an impact so surely did enough to warrant a start here.

Danny Mullen will be their main man for goals in this relegation battle and made a good start to this challenge, netting for the fifth time this season on Sunday.

St Mirren team news

Charles Dunne's late red card at Livingston on Saturday means he is suspended.

So, Conor McCarthy will surely come in alongside captain Joe Shaughnessy at centre-back.

January signing Jordan Jones will remain out-wide with Saturday's goalscorer Greg Kiltie on the other flank.

Fellow new recruit Alex Greive, who's arrived from Birkenhead United in New Zealand, will lead the line, getting the nod over Curtis Main.
