Dundee’s fate is now almost sealed.
On Saturday, the Dark Blues’ winless streak continued as they were beaten 2-0 by St Mirren in Paisley.
This means, since Mark McGhee’s appointment as manager, the Dee are still without a win, taking just five points from a possible 33.
So, Dundee remain rooted to the foot of the table, a positition that has become their permanent residence, six points below St Johnstone.
Given that the Saints’ goal difference is also superior by seven, Dundee are already virtually down, but failure to win here would mathematically secure it.
In truth, it’s been a shambolic season for the Dark Blues who worked so hard last year, winning the play-offs, but are heading straight back to the Championship.
Hibernian meanwhile have also endured a season to forget, hence why they’re playing this bottom six post-split fixture.
On Saturday, Hibs held Aberdeen to a 1-1 draw at Easter Road, courtesy of Paul McGinn late equaliser in Edinburgh.
So, amazingly, the Hibees have won just two of their last 16 Premiership matches and remain without a manager; David Gray is in caretaker charge.
In the table, Hibs are eighth, three points below Livingston, aiming to finish top of the bottom half.
Will this be the night Dundee’s relegation is rubber stamped at Dens, which is likely to have a funeral atmosphere?
