Match preview: Team & Player Performance

Can Liverpool get back to winning ways in the Premier League?

In the midst of Christmas and cup commitments, Liverpool are actually winless in three league fixtures, last claiming three points on 16 December.

Since then, they've drawn 2-2 at both Tottenham and Chelsea, suffering a shock 1-0 defeat to Leicester City in between.

So, Jürgen Klopp's side start the weekend 11 points adrift run-away leaders Manchester City and can't afford many more slip-ups.

More recently, on Thursday night in fact, the Reds hosted Arsenal in the delayed Carabao Cup semi-final first leg, but left frustrated.

The Gunners were reduced to ten-men just 24 minutes in but Liverpool couldn't find the breakthrough as it finished 0-0; Takumi Minamino skying the best opportunity.

So, this forthcoming Thursday, it's a straight shootout, winner takes all second leg in North London with a place at Wembley on the line.

Before then, will Liverpool put three Premier League points on the board.

Back in September, these two clubs played out an exhilarating 3-3 draw at the Brentford Community Stadium with Yoane Wissa scoring a late equaliser.

More recently though, Thomas Frank's side have struggled, winning just three of their last 13 league fixtures.

This includes on Tuesday night when Brentford were demolished 4-1 at Southampton, crumbling after Vitaly Janelt's spectacular equaliser.

That is the Bees' biggest league defeat since December 2016, a 5-0 drubbing at Norwich in the Championship.

Now, in their first visit to the venue since 1989, can Brentford stun Anfield?

Our 101 Match prediction: Liverpool 2-0 Brentford
