The Antonio Conte era at Tottenham Hotspur is up and running.

Last weekend, Spurs were swatted aside 3-0 by Manchester United in North London; a truly lifeless, gutless and hopeless performance.

That meant that Nuno Espírito Santo was the first manager since Christian Gross to lose five of his first ten league matches in charge of Spurs.

This signalled the end of Nuno’s 124 day reign and, the very next day, Antonio Conte came in to replace him.

This is quite a coup given that he’s won the Premier League, the FA Cup, four Scudettos and two Supercoppa Italianas, all since 2012.

The eight major honours he’s won as a manager in the last nine years is the same number of trophies that Spurs have won in the last 50 years.

The Italian took charge of his new squad for the first time on Thursday evening against Vitesse Arnhem in the UEFA Europa Conference League.

After half an hour, it was all smiles in N17 as they were 3-0 with all of Son Heung-min, Lucas Moura and Harry Kane scoring.

But, before half time, the Dutch side had pulled it back to 3-2, netting twice in seven minutes.

There was no further scoring but the second half did witness three red cards, one for Cristian Romero and then two for the away side.

That victory means Spurs are second in their group, one point above Vitesse but three behind Stade Rennais who they host on matchday six.

Now, the first real test for Conte as he returns to the Premier League.

As Chelsea Head Coach, Conte won three of his four meetings with Everton, conceding a grand total of zero goals in these fixtures.

Will Spurs, who are currently ninth, climb the table?

Everton could be the perfect first opponents again for Cone.

The Toffees were last in action on Monday at Molineux and, in the first half, they were shambolic, falling 2-0 down.

Alex Iwobi did pull one back after the interval but it wasn’t enough as they lost 2-1 to Wolverhampton Wanderers.

This means Rafa Benítez’s side have now lost three league games in a row after defeats to West Ham and Watford.

In total, Everton have lost nine league matches at home in 2021, last losing ten in a calendar year in 1993.

Also, the Blues have won just two of their last 18 encounters with Tottenham in all competitions.

But, both of those wins came last season, 1-0 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and then 5-4 in the FA Cup.

Will Conte make it two wins out of two with Spurs at Goodison?

Prediction: Everton 0-2 Tottenham Hotspur

Harry Kane has scored 12 goals in 13 appearances against Everton.
