Match preview: Team & Player Performance

For the third time this month, London rivals Chelsea and Tottenham lock horns.

These two played out a two-legged Carabao Cup semi-final with Chelsea cruising through to Wembley, winning 2-0 at home and 1-0 away.

This tie could hardly have been more one-sided but, despite what this might suggest, the respective league performances of both have been quite the opposite.

On Tuesday, despite taking the lead through Hakim Ziyech's long-range strike, Chelsea were held to a 1-1 draw by Brighton.

So, Thomas Tuchel's team are now winless in four league games, claiming victory in only one of their last seven.

In fact, since 6 November, Chelsea have actually only won one more league game than Norwich.

As a result, the Blues are now down to third and those just below them chasing a top four spot will think the European champions are catchable.

Tottenham Hotspur are very much apart of that chasing pack and their Champions League hopes were massively boosted by the crazy events of Wednesday.

Despite being behind with 94:51 on the clock, Spurs, somehow, beat Leicester City 3-2 at the King Power.

Steven Bergwijn snatched an equaliser before, straight from kick off, he was played in by Harry Kane, rounding the keeper and scoring the most unlikely of winners.

This is the latest a side has been behind in a Premier League game and gone onto win, breaking the record held by Man City vs QPR from a decade ago.

More importantly, it means Antonio Conte remains unbeaten as Spurs manager in the league, winning six of nine fixtures.

So, Spurs are up to fifth, eight points behind Chelsea but with a whopping four games in hand.

Who will win this crucial clash at Stamford Bridge?

Our 101 Match prediction: Chelsea 2-1 Tottenham Hotspur

As Chelsea manager, Thomas Tuchel has won all four matches against Tottenham without even conceding a goal.

In fact, Spurs have scored just twice in their last nine meetings with the Blues, netting once ever 405 minutes on average.

Antonio Conte is looking to become the first ex-Chelsea manager to then beat them in the Premier League with seven having previously failed to do so.
