Match preview: Team & Player Performance

Is the Premier League title race now over?

On Saturday, Chelsea were beaten 1-0 by Manchester City at the Etihad thanks to Kevin De Bruyne's curler mid-way through the second 45.

Of course, there's no shame in narrowly losing to the champions but the visitors left East Manchester with an xG figure of 0.44, managing just one shot on target.

This means the Blues are now down to third, 13 points behind the run-away league-leaders.

In the last week, Chelsea have at least reached the Carabao Cup Final, swatting aside Tottenham Hotspur 3-0 over two legs to reach Wembley.

With the FA Cup, Club World Cup and Champions League all also returning in February, there's still plenty for Thomas Tuchel's team to play for, even if not the league title.

Will the European Champions win in Sussex by the Sea?

These two met in the reverse fixture just 20 days ago at Stamford Bridge with Danny Welbeck's stoppage time header snatching a point.

This forms part of Brighton & Hove Albion's four-match unbeaten league run, defeating Brentford and Everton either side.

Most recently, Graham Potter's side were held to a 1-1 draw by fierce rivals Crystal Palace at home on Friday night.

Pascal Groß saw a first half penalty saved and the Seagulls needed a late own goal to rescue a point, despite dominating throughout.

So, having not lost since 15 December, Graham Potter's side are ninth, just below the potential European places.

This certainly won't be easy but Chelsea should have too much quality at the Amex.

Our 101 Match prediction: Brighton & Hove Albion 1-2 Chelsea

Chelsea are unbeaten in 16 meetings with Brighton, winning 12, dating back to the very first time the sides went head-to-head, in an FA Cup tie in 1933.
