Wolves vs Manchester City betting tips: Premier League match preview & predictions

Wolves vs Man City prediction: Wolves 0-3 Man City

Manchester City have already bludgeoned in eight goals in their opening two matches and there’s little to suggest that trend won’t continue against Wolves.

Manchester City picked up as many points away from home as they did at the Etihad last season, so playing on the road on Saturday shouldn’t have any bearing on the result.

Incredible offer on Manchester City to beat Wolves

Wolves vs Man City: Who will win?

City are 1/4 favourites to win the match while Wolves are 9/1 outsiders. The draw comes in at 5/1.

A hat-trick in last weekend’s fixture makes Sergio Aguero the firm favourite to score the opening goal of the match at 12/5. With the likes of Sterling, Mahrez, Jesus and Sane at risk of rotation, Aguero is by far the safest pick.

Wolves will back themselves to at least get themselves on the scoresheet, as Huddersfield did last weekend. Both teams to score is evens.

Nuno Espirito Santo

Wolves vs Man City Premier League match preview

Table-topping Manchester City travel to Molineux Stadium on Saturday to take on Nuno Espirito Santo’s Wolves side in the lunch-time kick-off.

City made it two wins in two with a convincing 6-1 demolition of Huddersfield Town at the Etihad last weekend.

Sergio Aguero responded to pre-match rumours that he would be dropped by scoring a hat-trick. There were further goals from Gabriel Jesus, David Silva and a Terence Kongolo own goal.

Silva’s goal was his first ever from a direct free-kick since joining the club in 2010.

Earlier in the week, the club celebrated the ten-year anniversary of Vincent Kompany’s arrival at the club.

The Manchester City captain has won three Premier League titles, three League Cup titles, two Community Shields and an FA Cup since his move from Hamburg in 2008.

Can Wolves cause an upset vs Manchester City?

After their encouraging 2-2 draw with Everton on the opening weekend, Wolves lost 2-0 at Leicester last weekend. The Foxes finished the match with 10 men but Nuno’s side were unable to find the back of the net despite 11 shots on goal.

City and Wolves met in the Fourth Round of last season’s Carabao Cup. The then-Championship side took City all the way to a penalty shootout after a goalless 120 minutes. City, who went on to win the tournament, beat Wolves 4-1 in the shootout.

City’s last Premier League game against Wolves came back in 2012. Sergio Aguero and Samir Nasri scored for Roberto Mancini’s men that day.

Wolves team news vs Man City

Nuno Espirito Santo made no changes last weekend and could be tempted to stick with a similar side on Saturday.

Matt Doherty is expected to be available after coming off injured last weekend. Doherty was on the receiving end of Jamie Vardy’s red-card challenge but it is believed to be nothing more than an impact injury for the right-back.

Ivan Cavaleiro will miss out once again with a lower back injury while Leander Dendoncker lacks match fitness. The latter will be hoping to make the bench.

Man City team news vs Wolves

Rumours of Sergio Aguero being rested were wide of the mark, but Pep did raise a few eyebrows with his team selection last weekend. The attacking trio of Leroy Sane, Raheem Sterling and Riyad Mahrez all had to settle for a place on the bench as Guardiola went for a back-three.

The formation favoured Ben Mendy who got to play in an attacking wing-back role, while Bernardo Silva was trialled on the opposite flank.

For the second week in a row, City have suffered a major injury blow in training. Claudio Bravo ruptured his Achilles tendon and could miss the remainder of the season.

Following Bravo’s injury, City have decided to recall young goalkeeper Aro Muric from his loan at NAC Breda.

Kevin de Bruyne remains a long-term absentee following his major knee injury.

Danilo, Philippe Sandler and Eliaquim Mangala are all ruled out.
