The Hammers welcomes Wolves to the London Stadium on Sunday for this Premier League match.

West Ham come into the match still trying to get their first points on the board in the 2020/21 Premier League season. They have lost their opening two matches of the season against Newcastle and Arsenal.

For Wolves, after a fantastic result at Sheffield United, they followed it up with a disappointing 0-1 loss to Stoke in the EFL Cup. They then lost at the hands of Manchester City last weekend.

West Ham United FC vs Wolverhampton Wanderers FC: What are the betting odds?

West Ham have won only 1 of the 4 Premier League matches between these sides in London. The fact they are 13/5 outsiders despite playing at home shows that few people believe they can take all three points here.

Only one of the last twelve matches in all competitions between these sides have ended in a draw. Odds of 5/2 are available if you see West Ham United and Wolves cancelling each other out on Sunday.

Wolves have won each of the last four matches in this head-to-head. So, it is no surprise to see them start the match as heavy favourites at 21/20.

West Ham United FC vs Wolverhampton Wanderers FC: Recommended bets

101 Great Goals’ prediction of West Ham 1 – 3 Wolves is available at odds of 18/1.

West Ham’s last home victory over Wolves came back in the FA Cup in 2016 by a scoreline of 1-0. A repeat of this score on Sunday is available at odds of 10/1.

Wolves won both matches against West Ham 2-0 last season, including here at London Stadium. You can back them at 9/1 for the same scoreline here on Sunday.

West Ham United FC vs Wolves has historically been a low scoring game. Six of the seven matches in the last 10 years have seen under 2.5 goals. You can back another low scoring game here on Sunday with odds of 8/11 for under 2.5 goals.

Michail Antonio scored against Arsenal last weekend for the Hammers. This makes him the only West Ham player to have found the net in this Premier League season so far. The 30-year-old is 15/2 to score the game’s opener on Sunday. Or 11/4 to bag a goal at any time during the game against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Raul Jiminez has started the season in fine form, scoring two goals in his first two games. He is the favourite to get on the scoresheet at 5/4. You can back Raul at 15/4 to grab the game’s opening goal.

West Ham United FC vs Wolverhampton Wanderers FC: Match preview

The Hammers probably feel unfortunate to not have points on the board already. While their performance was as poor as the result on opening day against Newcastle, they were the better side against the Gunners.

Ultimately, clinical finishing from Arsenal and a bunch of missed chances by West Ham is what saw Arsenal claim the three points.

Hammers fans would be forgiven though for wanting to see some change in the starting XI. The likes of Andriy Yarmolenko, Felipe Anderson, Sébastien Haller and Manuel Lanzini all looked excellent in midweek.

They are the sort of easy on the eye players fans love to see. Yet none have started for David Moyes in the league this season.

For Wolves, they are probably better off than where fans expected in the league. Not many sides would have 3 points already after travelling to Bramall Lane and then hosting Manchester City.

There is also a feel-good factor around the club once again. The departures of Diogo Jota and Matt Doherty would have been a concern that key players were up for sale. Especially when there were rumours around Ruben Neves, Adama Traore and Raul Jiminez.

However, bringing in Nelson Semedo this week as well as Fabio Silva already this summer has quelled such fears.

Confidence is such an important factor in football. The question is whether West Ham’s 5-1 rout of Hull City restores theirs. Or, whether Wolves take more from the this week’s signing of Semedo.

West Ham United FC team news vs Wolverhampton Wanderers FC

Issa Diop and Josh Cullen are the only two players ruled out for West Ham. Both have tested positive for the Coronavirus and are now under self-quarantine.

Mark Noble has been out with a toe injury causing him to miss the London derby against Arsenal. However, the pain has subsided and he is expected to be available here.

Sebastien Haller has also been struggling with injury so far this season causing him to only play 25 minutes in the Premier League. However, he started against Hull in midweek and managed to bag a brace of goals too. He is likely to keep his place in the starting XI here.

Jack Wilshere also started in midweek. The injury troubled midfielder gave a good account of himself. He is expected to be on the bench at the weekend.

Andriy Yarmolenko staked a claim for a start here with his performance in midweek. He created West Ham’s first two goals before scoring another two himself in West Ham’s 5-1 win.

Wolverhampton Wanderers FC team news vs West Ham United FC

It was a busy week in the transfer market for Wolves. Nélson Semedo, the 26-year-old right-back, was signed this week from Barcelona for around 30m euros. He is expected to make his debut for the club at the weekend.

Ki-Jana Hoever, a versatile 18-year-old defender from Liverpool, was also signed as part of the deal that saw Diogo Jota move in the other direction. He could be on the bench for Wolves.

Jonny Castro Otto remains ruled out for the long term. He had surgery to repair his anterior cruciate ligament in August and won’t feature again for Wolves in 2020.

Summer signing Fernando Marcal is also ruled out for Wolves. He suffered a lower leg injury that has prevented him from training. He faces a late fitness test before the game.

With both Otto and Marcal out, Rúben Vinagre looks likely to start his first Premier League match of the season at left-back.
